In Laws

First off, let me STRESS: I LOVE MY IN LAWS. They took me in when I was having a bad time with my own parents, and they love my daughter to pieces. They can be odd at times (but I chalk that up to the time period they grew up in - drugs and disco were bad for EVERYONE), but they are lovely people.


Now that I have that out of the way, I can say that sometimes we don't see eye to eye. Maybe my parenting style is too different, maybe it's because they are hippies (they aren't really), or maybe it is simply that we are different people and people naturally disagree.


One particular day after my daughter was born, I was talking to an old friend (JULES COME BACK TO FACEBOOK I MISS YOU) about my mother in law. I don't even remember what my problem was, but obviously something rubbed me the wrong way. My friend laughed, and told me a horror story about her own MIL (screaming in the waiting room "YOU ARE STEALING MY BABY FROM ME" as my friend was delivering!!). And then she told me about a website that would never allow me to take my in laws for granted again.

OMG! I don't know if these stories are made up or not, but either way, those stories make 90% of in laws look like kittens!! Honestly, from not allowing their daughter in laws to sit at the adult table at Thanksgiving dinner, to used nightshirts for Christmas, to holding babies before the parents get to, to stealing money!!! It is unbelievable! 

Like I said, I love my in laws, but I can't deny that I go to read the posts on that website, at least once a week to get my fill of crazy. Also, a lot of it is funny. How needs enemies when you have family?!?
